MONIKA TARSA

Monika Tarsa – holds Master of Arts degree  in artistic education in fine arts completed in the Institute of Art of the Pedagogical Academy in Krakow (1999 - 2004), post-graduate in advertising and PR (2012-2013), post-graduate in Creative Digital Image Processing achieved in the Faculty of Arts of the UP  Krakow (2013).

Since 2000, she has been working as a teacher - lecturer in the field of painting, drawing, design, advertising, composition and history and theory of art and aesthetics. Since 1997, she has been a member of the Gorlice Art Society.

Her paintings were presented at individual and collective exhibitions (including: Kraków, Gorlice, Nowy Sącz, Jasło, Lądek, Bardejov. Awarded for a collection of photograps at the 19th Annual Review of the Works of the Gorlice Art Community.

Author of texts published in the Estetyka I krytyka quarterly of the Jagiellonian University, including: "Time - memory - photography. An attempt at phenomenological reflection on photography" and "The thing about paintings of Wacław Taranczewski". In her work, she deals with painting, collage and photography, looking for a way to present the structure of color and texture.

From 2022 listed in the artist index of the Art Gallery "Dwór Karwacjanów" in Gorlice

Artist Statement

Painting is a challenge, it is becoming aware of what I see, think and feel. It is looking for a way to express my perception and portrayal of a reality that once impressed me… or what might impress me. Painting is a form, texture, structure, continuity and distinctiveness. All this can be shown in paintings, giving a space for all kinds of presentations.
